
Dr. Robert M. Mayer

Child, Adolescent and Geriatric Psychiatry
Dr. Mayer is Board Certified in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry, a Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. After completing residency and fellowship training at the University of South Florida, Dr. Mayer worked as an assistant professor at the University of South Florida before entering private practice.
He served as the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Morton Plant Hospital from 1998 to 2010 and also worked on several hospital committees to enhance the quality of medical and psychiatric care. Dr. Mayer has served as a psychiatric consultant to many community mental health organizations and is the Medical Director for Carlton Manor, Inc. (a youth residential treatment center) and Adoption Related Services of Pinellas County. He is a past president of the Pinellas County Psychiatric Association and is a founding member of Florida Behavioral Medicine.
He has also earned a PhD. in Biology. Dr. Mayer has appeared on public educational television and has participated in numerous educational activities with fellow psychiatrists and other physicians. Dr. Mayer is proud that his oldest son is currently in medical school and planning on a career in psychiatry.
